Best GCSE Results Ever!

Year 11 students at Smithdon High School secured the best GCSE headline results ever. Sitting the new styled English and Maths GCSEs, 65% of students achieved a Grade 4 or better which is an increase of 10% on the headline figure achieved in 2016.

79% of Year 11 students achieved a Grade 4 in English and 73% achieved a Grade 4 in Maths.

“The results reflect the hard word of students and staff alike” said Rob Lodge, Chair of the Smithdon High School Governing Body, “I am thrilled with the improvements and wish all the children well in their future studies.”

Smithdon High School is particularly proud of Scott Kimber who achieved a Grade 9 in both English and Maths.

“Scott’s achievement is fantastic” said Mr Wilson, Headteacher, “only a handful of students nationally would have been awarded a Grade 9 for both English and Maths and he should be very proud of himself.”
