Headteacher's Message
Thank you for viewing our website. I sincerely hope that you are able to find all the information you need. If you cannot locate a particular topic, please email us on office@smithdon.norfolk.sch.uk and we will address this issue.
The school is at a very exciting stage of its development and we are really ‘buzzing’, having passed through a very challenging period. We are on an upward trajectory and are determined to be ‘the best’.
As a school we believe that learning and achieving while developing respect for ourselves and others are the goals we must reach. We have a head start because of a number of new and exciting features, which include:
- Fantastic facilities throughout the school site.
- A new Senior Leadership Team with an unrelenting focus on teaching. learning and raising levels of attainment.
- A traditional school uniform consisting of jacket, shirt, tie, etc to be introduced in September 2011.
- Free transport for all pupils living within our catchment area and residing over three miles from the school.
- Astonishing ICT facilities with at least one computer for every two children.
- A newly developing GCSE curriculum with separate pathways offering real challenge and relevance for the most able child, those who find an academic education more difficult than many and all who lie between these groups.
- A Sixth Form with very small teaching groups.
- A programme of staff development which is actively and rigorously developing a learning culture to enable our students to ‘reach for the skies’.
If you are a prospective parent, please contact us without delay. We would like you to make an appointment so that we can proudly show you our school.
Mr J Goodchild
Headmaster
