At the heart of our curriculum is a determination to prepare every child for the challenges of the outside world and their future beyond our classrooms; it is our shared moral purpose to develop the core skills of literacy and numeracy skills across a broad and balanced curriculum.
Year 7 and 8
In Year 7 and 8 all students follow a broad and balanced curriculum. The curriculum has been designed to build on the skills developed at primary school and prepare student for the rigours of GCSE.
To ensure our curriculum does build on the primary school experience, we work closely with our primary partners to ensure the transition arrangements are effective.
Year 9, 10 and 11
At the end of Year 8 students are able to personalise aspects of their curriculum. All students will continue to study English, Maths, Science and RE as GCSE subjects until the end of Year 11. But students will also be able to choose four further GCSE subjects to study as well; one of which must be either Geography, History or a Language
Our curriculum is designed to develop culture and the arts as well as promote literacy, numeracy and other relevant subject specific skills. Our curriculum also reflects the rigour of the GCSEs so that we are constantly preparing students to be successful.
